Life's Work

The fertile land gives birth
To forests filled with trees.
All the big streams combine
Into life-nurturing rivers and seas.

Wisdom is like a crystal bright,
Beauteously glittering in the light.
As sharpness of thoughts increases,
It shows ways to fulfil wishes.

When wisdom shines in one's heart,
It leads to creativity and art.
Form the soul flows forth beauty,
The bird of the heart flies up the sky.

Keep one's eyes wide open to all
That ever happen in the universe.
Let nothing escape perusal,
Watch out for truth and illusion.

Be alert and ponder deeply,
Put into words well-conceived.
If my mind is clear of prejudice,
My verses will shine with truth.

Life is transient, nothing to cling to,
Except a hope for inspiration
Like a brilliant fire to light up faith
In the eyes of thousand others.

May my wisdom shine forth,
May my heart seek out truth,
I need no fame nor grandeur,
Just chance to create to create my life's work.
